VOLUSIA COUNTY BLUES SOCIETY dba DAYTONA BEACH BLUES SOCIETY
Mission Statement
Our mission is to promote, educate and preserve the unique American musical art form known as “blues” by developing programs and workshops, organizing special events, and creating a community of blues lovers. In pursuing our mission, we encourage and support our member musical artists who help to heighten awareness and enjoyment of all styles of blues and related music.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization operated and funded by membership dues and donations. All proceeds from special events benefit one of our four charities: Chase Academy (school for autistic children); Guitars for Vets (music therapy for Military Veterans afflicted with PTSD); Kids Rock the Nation (providing musical instruments and mentorship to children with a desire to learn about music); and, Parkinson Association of Greater Daytona Beach (dedicated to improving the quality of life for those impacted by Parkinson disease through research, education, fundraising, and outreach).
Board of Directors
The directors are responsible for supporting and leading the Daytona Beach Blues Society. The board meets monthly, and the meetings are open to the public. The location, time and date are posted on the home page.
