DBBS says farewell but not goodbye to Vice President Ron Szpak, and Board Director Dan Downer, and welcomes new Board Members.

Members of the Daytona Beach Blues Society recently gathered to recognize and celebrate their vice president, Ron Szpak, as he steps back from his leadership role. Surrounded by friends and fellow music supporters, the group shared stories, laughs, and appreciation for his years of dedication to the local blues community.

Ron, who also performs with his band The Voodoo Monkeys, has been known within the society for his steady support, positive spirit, and commitment to keeping the blues alive in the Daytona Beach area. Fellow members expressed gratitude for his contributions, noting that his efforts helped strengthen both the organization and its sense of community.

As the group honors Ron’s service, they also welcome Cheri Gilmore as the new Vice President. Members expressed enthusiasm about her stepping into the role and look forward to her leadership and continued growth of the society. We also welcome Bob Rosenbaum as a Board Director, as he brings with him musical talent and experience, along with innovative ideas.

Although Ron is stepping away from his official position, members emphasized that this is not a goodbye. He remains part of the blues family and is always welcome at events, gatherings, and performances. The evening served not only as a farewell, but as a celebration of friendship, music, and the lasting impact one devoted member can have on an entire organization.
